HISTORY

Cardiomedix, a Telehealth and ambulatory cardiac monitoring company, was founded in 1988 by its medical director, Dr. Daniel David, a renowned cardiologist. In the early 70’s Dr. David realized that the need to provide discharged cardiac patients with stress-free, remote access to medical consultation existed. In pursuit of a solution, Dr. David pioneered the field of remote patient monitoring and online medical data transmission; an area that became the Telehealth field.
Dr. David’s teachings became the modus operandi for the industry and are reflected in the guidelines for ambulatory cardiac monitoring of the American Heart Association and The American College Of Cardiology.

1974: World’s first clinical trials in trans-telephonic ECG monitoring. Dr. Daniel David initiated a multi-center study to test the benefits of remote ECG

1988: Cardiomedix established under the guidance of Dr. David. The company specialized in ambulatory monitoring of cardiac patients

1994: First field trials of in-home utilization of Telehealth technologies

2004: “Health-e-Care” Tele-Health Platform was introducedby Commwell Inc, a company formed in joint ventureship with Cardiomedix.

2008: FDA approves Commwell’s “PhysioGlove”—a 12-lead ECG system in a glove. Cardiomedix begins sales of the system.

2014 FDA approves Commwell’s “Wireless PhysioGlove”—a wireless 12-lead ECG system in a glove for effortless patient self-use.

We do this by maximizing remote diagnostic capabilities, supporting preventive medicine, reducing morbidity and mortality, shortening or eliminating in-hospital stays and reducing hospital readmission.
